The world premiere of my latest documentary, Married to Comics, will be taking place on September 8, 2023 at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center and is co-sponsored by the Small Press Expo (SPX). Married to Comics is a rare glimpse into the life and art of two giants of autobiographical comics, who are also married. Laying their personal lives to bare in comics, including the intimate details of their troubled marriage, Justin Green and Carol Tyler pioneered and set the bar for one of comics’ most important genres. I started this film 10 years ago when I first made contact with Justin and Carol, meeting Carol at the 2013 SPX which was followed by our first filming in January 2014. I’m so elated to have completed the film and to bring it full circle and premiere it as part of SPX 2023 at the prestigious AFI Silver Theatre.
